Absentee Voting

AN ABSENTEE BALLOT MAY BE CAST BY ANY ELIGIBLE VOTER.
Absentee voting is governed under the Absent Voter Act (Chapter 1, Article 6 NMSA 1978)
REQUESTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT
- Complete the absentee application online on the New Mexico Voter Information Portal at NMVote.org.
You must have a NM driver’s license or state ID to use this option. - Download the absentee application here. Print, complete and mail (or hand deliver) to our office.
- Request an application by email. Send your request to clerk@bernco.gov and an application will be mailed to you.
- Request an application by phone by calling (505) 243-VOTE (8683) option 2 and it will be mailed to you.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT ABSENTEE APPLICATION BY MAIL
The consensus among election officials and the U.S. Postal Service is that ballots mailed from a Bernalillo County location on or before November 3, 2022 will arrive by 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 8, 2022. After November 3, 2022 please hand-deliver your ballot to ensure it arrives on time.
